Guinea Hen Weed

Guinea Hen Weed, scientifically referred to as Petiveria alliacea, guinea hen weed, also known as Amasu in South America and locally as gully root or garlic weed, was found to have anti-cancer properties by Dr. Lawrence Williams, an adjunct professor at the University of Technology's College of Health Sciences, and his co-researcher Dr. George Levy from the USA, who received a patent from the United States for their discovery.

According to nutritionist Chloë-Faith Perez, even before its cancer-fighting properties were recognized, the plant was reputed to offer numerous health benefits. Widely used in Jamaica and throughout South America, guinea hen weed is believed to boost the immune system and has been proven effective against harmful organisms such as bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Perez highlighted its richness in antioxidants and its use as a treatment for cold, flu symptoms, and other respiratory conditions.

HOW TO PREPARE:

One tablespoon of the dried leaf can be used in 1 cup of hot water and steeped in freshly boiled spring water. Allow it to infuse for 15 minutes. Let cool, and enjoy tea at room temperature, without natural flavorings. Take three times daily.

It’s recommended to drink consistently daily until your cycle begins to regulate for 1-3 months. Once your cycle becomes consistent, you can transition to drinking it cyclically.
